Formerly focused on business Dell has announced new entertainment andย game notebooks, a portable digital projector and aย music player,ย with room to store up to 15,000 songs. Following the trends in the consumer technology market, dell is providing digital media players and video games that are portable. Gretchen Miller, director of mobile marketing at Dell stated that: “We want to meet the consumer’s needs for playing digital media on the go.”
The latest game notebook from Dell is the Inspiron XPS Gen 2 costs $2,749. It comes with a 17 inch display, a 256MB Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra grapics card, Windows XP Home edition, and a 2GHz Pentium M processor by Intel. The Gen 2 weighs 8.6 pounds.
Also new from Dell is the Inspiron 9300 notebook at 7.9 pounds. Its cost is $1,599 and comes with a 17 inch screen for entertainment. It also comes with MS Windows XP Home Edition, a 2.1GHz Pentium M chip by Intel, USB 2.0 TV tuner options and multiple ports to connect all your video and audio divices.
The Dell 1100MP is the latest projector and costs around $849 and weighs in at 4.9 pounds. It projects images up to 1,400 lumens and comes with HDTV, S-Video and composite video inputs.
The new Dell Digital Jukebox 30GB is a digital audio player that comes with a 30GB hard drive and it also supports Microsoft’s Media DRM 10. It also comes with PlaysFor Sure software. It can connect to music subscription services like Napster and Itunes. The jukebox costs about $299.
